Repair Cafe
Saturday, October 10, 12-4 p.m.
A Repair Café is a free community event where people bring in broken items and work alongside volunteer mentors to fix them together. It's a fun, social afternoon and a great way to share skills you've spent a lifetime building, while prolonging the life of beloved and useful items.

We can't promise a fix for everything, but we'll give it our best shot!

What to expect at Repair Cafe

Volunteers should arrive by 11 a.m. and expect to stay until 4 p.m.

Repairs will be handled on a first-come, first-served basis

Staff will assign patrons a repair volunteer, there may be a wait depending on availability

Each repair session is limited to 30 minutes (additional time will be assessed on a case by case basis

A little bit about Human Library:
Librarians will help you select a topic and guide you to an open Book for a one-on-one or group conversation with a human being.
The Human Library works with organizations like RHPL to create safe places to challenge misconceptions about people, promote understanding, and prevent conflict and division. The organization has worked in 85 countries for 25 years, and provides resources to ensure that Human Libraries work in and for their own community.
The Human Library at RHPL will feature your neighbors, classmates, congregation, coworkers, and fellow library users. People you may see every day, but whose stories have never been shared. Now is your chance to gain a better understanding of the community you call home and a better understanding of yourself. Come, unjudge someone.
