RHPL Board of Trustees

Madge Lawson has been on the Library Board since 1999 and has lived in Rochester Hills since 1983. Madge has spent over 20 years as an executive in the field of hospital public relations. She is an artist, published writer, interior designer, and feng shui teacher and consultant. Madge and Bill have two daughters and five grandchildren.

Melinda Deel and her husband, Ryan, have lived in Rochester Hills since 2003. They are the proud parents of twin sons. Melinda has a Bachelor of Arts from Michigan State University and a Juris Doctor from Michigan State University College of Law.  She has been a practicing attorney since 2001 with her own practice in Rochester Hills. Melinda is an avid library patron. She and her family have enjoyed and benefitted from the outstanding programs and services offered by the library. 

Melinda is a member of the Friends of the Rochester Hills Public Library and Rochester Rotary. She also serves on the Board of Directors of the Oakland County Bar Association. Melinda is happy to continue the family tradition of service to Rochester Hills Public Library since her husband served on the Board of Trustees from 2014 to 2017.

Anne Kucher joined the Library Board in 2010. She is a retired teacher with a B.A and a M.A. from Oakland University, and an Education Specialist degree in Administration and Supervision from Wayne State University. She taught elementary in Utica Community Schools for 33 years before retiring. Anne is now active in community organizations including the American Association of University Women and the Rochester Symphony Guild. She belongs to various cultural and history groups in the area. Anne is a member of the Friends of Rochester Hills Public Library, an avid reader belonging to three book discussion groups, and appreciates the library’s many and varied programs. She also enjoys traveling, golfing, cycling, and gardening.

Bob Bonam has filled each position on the Library Board several times since he has served on the Board since 1984. Bob and his wife, Susan, have lived in Rochester Hills for 37 years and have three children and three grandchildren. Bob is a member of the Independent Accountant Association of Michigan and has owned his own accounting/tax practice for 39 years. When Bob’s sons were young, he was involved in coaching RARA basketball, and was also on the Board for the Boy Scouts. Besides being a long-time Library Board member, Bob belongs to the Friends of the Rochester Hills Public Library.

Chuck Stouffer is married with two grown children and two lovely granddaughters. He is a commercial photographer, beginning in 1981 in local newspapers, then magazines, and business and industry. He also opened an antique store in Clawson in 2013. Chuck has been an RHPL Trustee since 1999, serving in all offices on the Board.

Julianne Reyes is a wife and mother of four children. She and her family have lived in the Rochester Hills community for the past 15 years. 

She has an undergraduate degree with a major in Finance and an MBA degree with a concentration in Human Resources, both from Michigan State University. Julianne currently works as a Human Resource professional. Additionally, she has started and led a nonprofit organization and worked with a hybrid homeschool program. Julianne is a volunteer for local charities; a triathlete, and a long-distance swimmer.
