An Evening with a Forensic Scientist
(ROCHESTER HILLS- March 20, 2019) Rochester Hills Public Library is proud to host Katie Gill, a forensic scientist with the Michigan State Police, Tuesday, March 26, at 7 p.m.
Gill will touch on forensic science as a whole and the forensic services that the Michigan State Police provides to our state’s law enforcement agencies.
“I will talk about forensic biology, latent prints, trace evidence, firearms/toolmarks, questioned documents, controlled substances analysis, toxicology, and our crime scene investigation response team,” said Gill.
She’ll also touch on what it takes to become a forensic scientist and requirements to enter the field.
“And that’s an important aspect to this program,” said Community Relations Specialist Amanda Harrison Keighley. “Exposing young adults to different fields of interest like forensic science can be very beneficial when you’re deciding on a career or major.”
The program is recommended for adults 18 and up because of its mature content. Participants must register in advance with their library card at calendar.rhpl.org.
