3D Printers

Please note that due to long print times for 3D prints we use a queue system, first come first served, and it is often not possible to see your objects being printed. Special arrangements may be possible by appointment. (New)

SLA / Resin Printer

Our SLA (resin) printer is a 3D printer that is optimized for printing highly detailed or small models such as figurines, DND characters, etc.
Our printer is an Anycubic Photon M3 Max, which offers an impressive print volume of 14.7 liters as well as a 7K high definition screen with a contrast ratio of 450:1, and 84 LEDs in a smart matrix light source system. These features ensure your prints are high quality and finely detailed.
We only print in a grey eco friendly resin and the cost per print is $0.05 per gram weight. The maximum printable volume is 11.7” x 6.5” x 11.81” (298mm x 164mm x 300 mm). We recommend when sending us files for resin printing, that they come pre-supported.

FDM/Filament Printer

Our Bambu Lab X1 Carbon FDM (filament) printer is our everyday general purpose 3D printer.
It offers impressive speed and precision to ensure your print is of good quality and produced as quickly as possible. It has a 4 slot automatic material switcher, which means we can print in up to 4 colors at once (provided we receive a suitably configured file). It also has automatic bed leveling and an integrated Lidar system which helps prevent failed prints, saving us time and you money.
We only print in PLA plastic filament, but have a wide variety of color options available. The cost of a 3D filament print is $0.03 per gram weight. The maximum printable volume is 9” x 9” x 9” (230mm x 230mm x 230mm).

Conversion Station

Our conversation station is set up for all the format conversersions listed below. The conversion process is free as long as you provide at least a 32 GB flashdrive and all your media is labeled (preferably just named “1”, “2”, “3” etc.)

    1. The following media formats can be converted into digital video: VHS, VHS-C, DVD, 8mm and Super8 film, 8mm and Super8 film cassette

    2. Vinyl records can be converted into digital audio

    3. The following media formats can be converted into digital images: Color Negatives (135, 126, 110), Slide Positives (135, 126KPK, 110, Super 8, 8mm), Black and White (135, 126KPK, 110).

    4. Other digital video conversion needs: if you bring in a player with an RCA composite out (yellow, red, and white cords), we can convert any medium to a digital file (mp4).

Button Press

We have button making machines available for use and button making supplies available for purchase. We have supplies to make 1” buttons with magnetic and pin backs and 2.25” buttons with just pin backs. The cost of a completed button either 1” or 2.25” is $0.15 each.

Vacuum Former

A new piece of equipment here at the makerspace is our vacuum forming machine, which heats and molds plastic sheets to conform to objects. This is great for making molds, trays or plastic shells for toy cars as an example. The maximum moldable size is 4” x 4” x 2”. Price will vary on the type and thickness of plastic being formed but will run in the $0.50 – $1.50 range per sheet. Currently we have clear PET and white styrene plastic available. Both are food safe.

Laser Cutter

We have a powerful and fast laser cutter and engraver in the form of our Xtool P2. This machine can cut wood, cardboard, rubber, cork, acrylic and more as well as engrave designs onto the same materials plus metal, glass and stone. There is no charge to use the laser, but we do have materials available for patron purchase if desired. These include 12” x 12” sheets of plywood for $3 each, 12” x 12” sheets of acrylic for $8 each and supplies to make 1” rubber stamps for $1 per completed stamp (including wooden block). Outside materials must be approved by Library staff before use. The makerspace will NOT cut or engrave the following materials for any reason: leather, ABS or PVC plastic, anything with a battery.

Die cutter

We have a roller die cutter available for patron use. This machine can cut paper and cardstock into a variety of shapes based on predetermined dies. We have a range of numbers and letters as well as an assortment of objects (rabbit, tree, snowflake, flag, etc.) There is no charge to use this machine, but we have cardstock available for patron purchase if desired. The cost is $0.13 per 12” x 12” sheet of cardstock.

Smart Cutter

We have a Cricut Maker 3 available for patron use. This machine can interpret software to cut, draw and emboss on a variety of materials like paper, cardstock and vinyl. This machine is free to use but we have a variety of materials available for patron purchase if desired. These include:

    • Adhesive backed vinyl in assorted colors: $1.00 per 12” x 12” piece
    • Heat transfer vinyl in assorted colors: $1.00 per 12” x 12” piece
    • Vinyl transfer tape: $1.00 per 12” x 12” piece
    • Multicolor cardstock: $0.13 per 12” x 12” sheet
    • Adhesive backed printable sticker paper: $1 per 8.5” x 11” sheet
    • Temperature reactive color changing vinyl: $2 per 12” x 12” sheet
    • Printable heat transfer vinyl: $2 per 8.5” x 11” sheet for light fabrics and $3.50 per 8.5” x 11” sheet for dark fabrics

3D Scanner

We have a Revopoint Pop 3 scanner available for patron usage.This specialized camera can scan physical objects and generate a 3D file that can then be 3D printed. Our particular camera is best suited for objects about the size of a soda can, it will struggle to do very large or very small (figurine sized) objects. There is no charge to use this device. 

Sublimation Printer

Our Sawgrass SG500 sublimation printer allows us to print a specialty ink on special paper that when heated allows us to transfer designs of photographic realism onto various surfaces such as fabrics and ceramics. The cost of each print is $1.00 per 8.5” x 11” sheet. This is great for T-shirts, but due to a variety of sizing requirements we do not stock any T-shirts. If you would like to bring your own, we suggest white 100% polyester for best results, dark fabrics will give poor results. However, we do stock sublimation compatible:

    • 5” x 7” puzzles for $1.50 each
    • 12” x 24” hang towels for $2.25” each
    • 11oz coffee mugs for $2.50 each. 
    • Coasters for $1.00 each 
    • Drink koozies $0.75 each
