Registration Details

Some of our youth programs require advanced registration. For these programs, children must live in Rochester, Rochester Hills, or Oakland Township and be registered with their own library card. (If your child is attending school in our service area, they are eligible for a student card. Visit the information desk to learn about student cards). Registration can be done online through our event calendar or by calling the youth reference desk at 248-650-7140. Registration opens one week before the event at 9 am.

Program tips:

  • Arrive early and visit the bathroom before the program begins.
  • Model appropriate behaviors and participate with your child.
  • Take a break, it’s ok if you need one!
  • Help clean up.
  • Have Fun!

For all programs labeled "Early Lit Group"

  • Children must be registered with their own library cards.
  • Please follow the age requirements in each program description. Only register and plan to bring children within the specified age range.
  • Please register for only one group per session. Your registration covers the whole multi-week session of storytime.
  • Parent or Caregiver participation is strongly encouraged and guided for all Early Lit Groups

Please refrain from using the following items for these programs:

  • Cell phones
  • Personal toys
  • Snacks
  • Adult conversations

For all other programs, if registration is required
